What good looks like

StepOutcome
Question"Are we beating target?" — tab renamed "Vs Target"
HierarchyAttainment card top-left · revenue/margin/YoY cards across · attainment-by-region bar largest · Year slicer right rail
AlignmentTypical before: 9–14 distinct left edges. After: 3 (left column, center gutter, rail)
Alt texte.g. "Bar chart: every region beat its 2026 target; West leads at 112.7%, Southwest lowest at 105%"
Tab orderCard → cards → bar → line → slicer; keyboard traversal tells the story in order
SimulationAll claims survive — the Iris palette and 100%-line encoding carry meaning without red/green dependence

Reflection answers

  • Edge counts typically drop from double digits to three or four — and the page suddenly reads as "finished" without any content change. That felt difference IS the credibility transfer the lesson described: same numbers, different trust.
  • The hardest alt text is usually the exploration-ish visual with no single finding — which is diagnostic exactly the way an unwritable title was in L07: a visual whose finding cannot be stated may not have one, and the Briefing page may not be its home.
