Practice — Mild · The Pass Rehearsed
Skills focus. The design pass, executed once on your Briefing page with the
checklist open.
Ungraded. Start from your L09 Briefing (or build it from the Hot solution's spec).
Tasks
- Question test: write the page's one question; rename the tab to its short form.
- Hierarchy: attainment (or your chosen headline) to the top-left; cards across the top; the most important evidence gets the largest canvas; slicer to the rail.
- Alignment: View → gridlines + snap-to-grid; align every edge. Count your distinct left edges before and after — write both numbers down.
- Alt text: finding-first prose on every visual. Read each aloud; rewrite any that name a species instead of a finding.
- Tab order: Selection pane; order = answer → context → evidence → controls. Tab through with the keyboard to verify.
- The one-in-twelve test: run the page through a CVD simulation and note whether every claim survives.
Reflection
- What were your before/after edge counts, and what did the delta feel like visually?
- Which alt text was hardest to write as a finding, and why is that diagnostic?
