Practice — Mild · Roles Rehearsed

Skills focus. RLS built, predicted, and verified — plus the mobile layout. All in Desktop; no tenant required.

Ungraded. Start from your A10 file.

Tasks

  1. Predict first. Before building anything, write down what the revenue card should read under a Midwest-only filter, and under Online-only. (You can derive both from visuals you already have.)
  2. Build the roles: Modeling → Manage roles → Midwest Manager with [Region] = "Midwest" on the Regions table; likewise Online Manager.
  3. View as each role. Checkpoints: $8,706,946.00 and $29,892,682.72 — matching your predictions. Walk every page: attainment narrows, returns narrow, the drillthrough still works, and the map under Online Manager shows… what? Look, and explain what you see.
  4. Mobile layout for Briefing: answer card first, one claim per screen, slicer last. Preview it in the phone-shaped canvas.
Hint — my Midwest role shows correct revenue but company-wide returns

The Regions filter reaches returns through the returns → stores relationship. If that card ignores the role, the relationship is missing or broken — Model view, and welcome to the RLS-leak-as-filter-gap diagnosis.

Reflection

  • Under Online Manager, what did the state map render, and why is that the correct behavior rather than a bug?
  • Your two predictions came from visuals you built weeks ago. What does that say about where RLS verification figures should always come from?
